ABOUT NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand or ‘Aotearoa’- “Land of the long white cloud” is located in the Southwestern Pacific Ocean and consists of Two main islands- North Island and South Island and many small islands. New Zealand is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington and the largest city is Auckland.

The City of Auckland has been rated as one of the top 5 cities in the world to live in several times.

New Zealand enjoys a mild and temperate climate with the North Island being warmer and the South Island being on the colder side. In the South Island there is the general snow season from early June till early October. The North Island does get snowfall but it is less common.
The main languages are English and Maori. New Zealand has a developed market economy which is modern and prosperous. New Zealand is a rather young country where there are new opportunities growing rapidly.

New Zealand today has a diverse ethnic people as a result of immigration from other nations, but still a majority of the population has descended from Europe. New Zealanders or Kiwis as they are fondly referred to are a very friendly people and take part in cultural celebrations of all ethnicities.
The food in New Zealand also echoes the influence of immigrant nations. Restaurants and supermarkets are noted to be catering to European, Indian, and Chinese gastronomic needs. New Zealand also makes a large variety of good quality wines which are widely consumed and liked all over the world.
